No Place Like Home – it’s a wrap!

Written and Directed by Cat Bruce and Produced by Neil Jack, No Place Like Home is a stop-motion short produced as part of the Scottish Shorts development and production initiative. The film tells the story of Sona, a self-reliant woman who struggles to preserve her way of life when threatened with eviction from her countryside home.

Withered Hand – ‘Inbetweens’

Withered Hand
Edinburgh-based Ko Lik Films took a sabbatical from its previous animation work for clients that have included Disney and the BBC, to produce a zero-budget live action promo for the latest Withered Hand (aka Dan Willson) release.

The plan was to skip the performance angle and focus on the gentle, dream-like quality of the song. Party guests including Scott Hutchison from Frightened Rabbit, Neil Pennycook from Meursault, stand-up Josie Long and various other members of Edinburgh’s music scene queue in vain for the bathroom as Dan settles down for a snooze and a particularly wet dream.

“As well as being one of the best songwriters in the UK, Dan is endlessly enthusiastic and obliging. As a result, it was a really happy shoot from start to finish and our little crew and various friends all put in so much effort and talent that it was just a great project to be involved in.”
